Quick verdict

Choose Hims if you want chewables but also the option of a plain FDA-approved generic, with prices visible before the quiz (chews from $30/mo). Choose BlueChew if chewing is the whole point and you want sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil in chewable form — knowing everything it sells is compounded and prices appear in the quiz.

Same idea, different shops

Hims and BlueChew both sell ED medication you chew instead of swallow. The difference is everything around that:

  • Hims is a broad men’s health shop. Chews are one part of its ED menu, next to plain FDA-approved generics, hard mints and 2-in-1 plans.
  • BlueChew is a chewables specialist. Its whole lineup — sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil and the 4-in-1 Gold — is chewable or sublingual, and all of it is compounded.

The price question

Hims shows “starting at” prices on its ED page: $30 a month for sildenafil or tadalafil chews. BlueChew’s homepage and general FAQ don’t list plan prices; you see them inside the quiz.

That isn’t unusual in telehealth, but it does mean you’ll have answered health questions before you can compare. My suggestion: note the per-chew price on BlueChew’s plan screen, then compare it with Hims’s per-dose price at its checkout.

The billing fine print

BlueChew’s FAQ is unusually specific, which I give it credit for: charges hit at the start of each cycle and include product, shipping and tax; you must cancel or pause at least 24 hours before renewal; and prescription treatments can’t be returned. With Hims, check the plan terms on the checkout screen, since the ED page doesn’t spell them out.

If you don’t need a chew

If the chewable format isn’t essential, a plain generic is usually the simplest, FDA-approved route. Ro publishes per-strength generic prices; see Hims vs Ro.

Frequently asked questions

Is BlueChew or Hims better for chewable ED meds?

Both sell chewable sildenafil and tadalafil. BlueChew also offers chewable vardenafil and is built entirely around chewables. Hims lists starting prices on its ED page and also sells FDA-approved generic pills, so you can switch formats without changing services.

Are Hims chews and BlueChew FDA-approved?

No. Both companies state that their chewable products are compounded, and the FDA does not approve compounded drugs. Hims also sells FDA-approved generic sildenafil and tadalafil pills; BlueChew does not.

Which is cheaper, Hims or BlueChew?

Hims lists chews from $30 a month. BlueChew doesn't publish plan prices outside its quiz, so a like-for-like comparison means checking the per-chew price on BlueChew's checkout screen.
